PFI Training Group LLC was founded in 2019 by retired Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agent David Coletti and is based in Long Island, New York.

Dave holds certifications from the FBI as Firearms Instructor, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Police Instructor and Legal Instructor. His last position was Principal Firearms Instructor for the FBI New York, and has instructed thousands of FBI agents, Police Officers and MIlitary Personnel in techniques of Law Enforcment Firearms Training, Tactical Training, Defensive Tactics and legal use of force. In addition to in-service quarterly firearms training, he has taught instructor-level classes in Firearms Instructor, Carbine Instructor, Shotgun Instructor, Tactical Pistol, and operator classes in Sniper/Observor, SWAT Operator and Officer Survival. Having managed several range operations and the training unit curriculum, he is familiar with all aspects of law enforcement firearms training on individual, group and agency levels.

Prior to his full-time assignments in firearms and tactics training, Dave accumulated extensive experience in high-risk operations and arrests of armed and dangerous subjects. He was lead investigator and task force leader on numerous cases involving violent crime and drug trafficking criminals and gangs. Amongst other recognitions, he was awarded Criminal Investigator of the Year by the Federal Law Enforcement Foundation, Group Achievement Award from the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association, Distinguished Service Award from the Nassau County Municipal Chiefs of Police Association, and Outstanding Investigation from the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York.

Dave also holds Instructor certifications from the National Rifle Association in Handgun, Rifle and Shotgun, and training in Range Development and Management.

Certified by the FBI as Physical Fitness Advisor, Dave was the lead for Physical Fitness testing and training for the FBI in Long Island, including FBI Applicants and FBI Agent annual in-service testing. He has tested and advised hundreds of Agents and Applicants in fitness improvement.

Dave is a Level 1 Certified Coach by the United States Track and Field Association. He is a certified First Responder and CPR trained.

An avid runner, Dave has competed in many individual and team road and cross-country races and frequently placed in his age group. He is a multi-year recipient of the USAT&F Phidippides Gold Award. In Biathlon (cross-country running and pistol shooting event), he won the Silver Medal in the 2011 World Police and Fire Games in New York, the Gold Medal in the 2014 Can-Am Police and Fire Games in York, and the Gold Medal in the 2015 World Police and Fire Games in Fairfax.

An avid shooting competitor, Dave has competed in shotgun, rifle and handgun sports, placing in USPSA, NSCA and NRA matches in action pistol, bullseye, police pistol combat, USPSA Limited-10, Single Stack and 3-Gun, metallic silhouette, sporting clays, skeet and carbine, and was classified as Master in IDPA. He has successfully hunted in North America (Eastern/Western United States and Canada) and Africa for a large variety of species over the past 45 years.
